The Art Of Elsa Kroese

Illustrations, Fantasy Art, Comics and Design

Hello!
I make

ABOUT ME

I’m Elsa Kroese. I work as a freelance artist with a focus on illustration and concept art, though I also make comics. I have a Masters degree in animation, and I love building things like small furniture.

I was born and raised in a little picturesque old town on the Veluwe (the Netherlands), but since then I’ve been moving around, living in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Utrecht and Dublin. Currently I’m located in Helsinki.

In my spare time, I skate, play Roller Derby, and I’m a novice park skater. I also love snowboarding, reading, cats, and playing video/card/board games. I’m fueled by coffee, art and bad puns.

About My Work

Tools For Digital Art

Software: Most of my digital work is done in Photoshop. I’ve been using it since version 4, and while it has its flaws it is my go to tool for everything related to digital art.

Tools For Traditional Art

I paint with acrylics. For my alters I use Golden Fluids Acrylic paints, and for my canvases I use a mix of Amsterdam and Ara Artists’ Acrylics. I also often use a glazing and/or slow drying medium.

For drawing and sketching I use mechanical pencils for the precise work and soft pencils (B2 or up) when I want to add shade/depth.

Permissions / copyright

Personal Use

If you want to use my art as your avatar, profile or on your blog/website that’s OK as long as you properly credit me as the artist and link to my website or one of my social media profiles.

Please don’t use my work for tattoo designs without permission. If you aren’t sure, please contact me before using my work.

Commercial Use

For commercial or licensing please contact me with the appropriate information. I am not interested in creating NFTs, nor can any of my work be minted as NFT.

Shop

Shipping

I currently only ship out original work, which I will package and ship with care. Please allow 2-5 business days for me to send the package. If applicable I will contact you with tracking information.

Returns/Refunds

For products sold through third party shops (Altersleeves, Imprnt, UCB) the returns/refund rules of those shops apply.

For original work sold troughs my own shop, I’m following EU regulations. You have the right to return your purchase within 14 days of receipt. Costs of return shipping are the responsibility of the purchaser. The work needs to be returned in its original packaging (or similar), and I will refund after I’ve received the work in good condition.

Original Alters

My original alters are carefully packaged and shipped in a toploader so they arrive in perfect condition.
I put great care in making alters that are clean and thin so the weight and feel of the card doesn’t change significantly, but always check with a judge about tournament legality of altered cards.

Altersleeves

My custom sleeves are printed and shipped by Altersleeves. They are printed on Dragon sleeve skin tights, so they are reliable quality. Since there’s variation in WOTC’s printing, I can’t guarantee a perfect color match on the sleeves. But Altersleeves customer support is very solid, so it’s worth a shot! I use quite a few of these sleeves myself and I’ve never felt disappointed in their quality.
