If you haven’t hired an illustrator before or don’t know what to expect? Here’s four steps that are always part of my process.

1. Briefing

You describe what you need. Scope, budget and timeframe are also important to know.

I may ask you for additional details.

2. Sketch

Based upon the briefing and any additional info I will create one or several sketches, depending on our agreement. I will present these to you for review.

3. Feedback

After the sketch there is a correction round, where your feedback can refine the design. The adjusted design will then once more be presented to you for review and final tweaks.

4. Final Product

Once the final art is done, you will receive it in the agreed upon file formats, sizes. Or, if you buy an original, the work will be well packaged and shipped to you.

Terms for Personal use commissions

Prices are subject to change based on demand.
I have the right to reject any order for any reason.

Payment is done through PayPal in Euro. The
commission is paid 50% upfront and 50% after the artwork is finished.

Don’t send me any payments before your commission is confirmed by me!

After the commission is confirmed and I have received the first 50% of the payment it takes anywhere between 1 week to 2 months to finish your commission depending on my schedule.

Once the illustration is finished and the remaining 50% of the payment is fulfilled you will receive the full-resolution image(s).

[ 04 | REVISIONS ]

There is one revision round during the sketch phase where you can request changes to the design.

One or two small tweaks are no problem but
once you have approved the sketch I cannot make additional big changes without charging you a fee based on my hour rate.

  1. Under no circumstances can the work be used for commercial purposes (reselling, redistributing, uploading to POD-services, make prints, etc.), minted as NFT, be sold to third parties.
  2. I retain all copyrights (author and ownership) over the commissioned artwork.
  3. In the case of OC’s you will retain all rights of your character(s) (IP).
  4. I reserve the right to post the commissioned artwork online, in my portfolio as well as in publications such as art books.
  5.  You may upload the commissioned artwork on any website and social channels.
  6.  You may not alter the commissioned artwork without my (the artist’s) consent
  1. The buyer is not allowed a refund once I started working on the commission.
  2. If for any reason I am unable to start your commission you will receive a full refund.
  3. If you cancel your order before I started it, you can get a full refund.
  4. If you are getting a refund, do not request a Paypal chargeback. I will transfer the money back to you myself.
  5. If you request a Paypal chargeback at any point when you were not allowed to ask for a refund you will lose all aforementioned rights to the commissioned piece and I will have the full right to profit further from it in any way. I will decline the chargeback and supply Paypal with our conversations in which we talk about the commission as evidence that I have completed work for you. Furthermore, you will be blacklisted for commissioning me again.
